Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented Blockchain Developer with a DeFi focus to design, implement, and optimize smart contracts across networks. This remote-first role supports scalable DeFi applications and security.

You will use Solidity, Web3 libraries, and frameworks such as Hardhat or Truffle, collaborating with a global team from anywhere, including Paarl, Western Cape. A CS/Engineering background and 2+ years in DeFi are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of professional blockchain development experience with DeFi.
• Proficiency in Solidity and EVM-compatible chains.
• Hands-on with DeFi protocols (AMMs, stablecoins, yield optimizers).
• Familiarity with Web3 libraries (Web3.js, Ethers.js) and frameworks (Hardhat, Truffle).
• Understanding tokenomics, financial math, and smart contract security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy smart contracts for DeFi apps (DEXs, lending, yield protocols).
• Write secure, gas-optimized Solidity code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement DeFi features.
• Integrate with networks (Ethereum, Polygon, BSC) and oracles.
• Conduct code reviews and participate in architecture discussions.
• Monitor deployed contracts and address issues or vulnerabilities.
• Stay updated on DeFi security trends and new protocols.
• Contribute to technical docs and team knowledge sharing.
