Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented Blockchain Developer for a fully remote role focused on DeFi and smart contracts. You will build secure contracts, deploy across networks, and integrate with front-end applications while collaborating with a distributed team.

You should bring 2–4 years of blockchain experience, Solidity expertise, and familiarity with Hardhat/Truffle/Foundry. The role offers remote work from South Africa and globally, with opportunities to advance in a rapidly growing fintech

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 2–4 years of blockchain development with focus on smart contracts and dApps.
• Proficiency in Solidity and frameworks like Hardhat, Truffle or Foundry.
• Understanding of DeFi protocols, concepts (AMMs, lending) and token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721).
• Familiarity with Web3 libraries (Web3.js, Ethers.js) and interacting with blockchain nodes.
• Experience with Git for version control.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration for remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy secure smart contracts on Ethereum, BSC, Polygon and others.
• Build and maintain user-focused dApps with strong UX and performance.
• Integrate smart contracts with front-end interfaces and backend services.
• Participate in design and architecture of new DeFi protocols and features.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure best practices in smart contract development.
• Identify and fix security vulnerabilities and performance bottlenecks.
• Stay updated with latest blockchain tech, DeFi trends and security practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers in a remote setting.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to technical documentation.
