Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Blockchain Developer for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will design, code, and deploy Solidity smart contracts, contributing to DeFi products built on blockchain technology.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of software experience with at least 1 year in blockchain, strong knowledge of Solidity, and familiarity with DeFi protocols. Remote-friendly environment with global collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, mathematics or related field.
2+ years software development with at least 1 year blockchain/smart contract work.
Proficiency in Solidity programming language.
Experience with DeFi protocols and concepts (e.g., AMMs, lending protocols).
Familiarity with web3.js, ethers.js, or similar libraries.
Understanding of blockchain architecture, token standards (ERC-20), and security practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fully remote, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and deploy robust Solidity smart contracts for DeFi applications.
Design and implement DeFi protocols including lending, borrowing, and DEXs.
Integrate smart contracts with blockchain networks and oracles.
Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate contracts with UIs.
Conduct code audits and security reviews of smart contracts.
Optimize gas usage and transaction efficiency.
Stay updated on DeFi trends and developments.
Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
Troubleshoot and resolve DeFi contract issues.
Contribute to overall technical architecture and strategy.
