Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Corporate Governance Specialist to join our team in a fully remote capacity, with ties to Port Elizabeth. You will advise on regulatory requirements, manage board secretarial functions, and drive governance best practices to ensure integrity and compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant tertiary qualification in Law or Business Administration, with 5+ years in governance, and a strong understanding of SA corporate law.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate governance, company secretarial duties, or compliance.
• Strong understanding of South African corporate law and governance codes.
• Excellent minute-taking, document management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Advise the board of directors and management on governance best practices and regulatory compliance.
• Manage board meeting logistics, prepare agendas, take minutes, and track action items.
• Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, King IV principles, and other relevant regulations.
• Maintain statutory registers and oversee corporate filings with regulatory authorities.
• Develop and deliver training programs on corporate governance to staff and directors.
