Placements24 is seeking a highly organized Legal Advisor specializing in Corporate Governance to join our Randburg team. You will advise the board and management on governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management frameworks to uphold ethical and legal standards across the company.

The role requires strong SA corporate law knowledge with a proactive approach to governance structures and board support.

Qualifications

Admitted Attorney with at least 6 years of corporate law and governance experience.
In-depth knowledge of the South African Companies Act and governance principles (e.g., King IV).
Experience in company secretarial duties and board support.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage complex compliance requirements.
Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

Advise the Board of Directors and senior management on governance and compliance.
Ensure adherence to the Companies Act, King IV, and other regulations.
Manage statutory and regulatory compliance obligations.
Oversee preparation of board minutes and corporate records.
Assist in drafting and reviewing corporate policies and procedures.
Conduct governance-related legal research for Gauteng.
