Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Associate General Counsel specializing in contracts to join a rapidly growing technology solutions provider. This fully remote role lets you work from anywhere in South Africa, advising on SaaS, software licensing, and IT service agreements with a focus on risk and compliance.

You will draft, review, and negotiate high-volume contracts, develop templates, and guide business teams on terms and implications.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in commercial contract law, with emphasis on drafting and negotiation.
• Experience with SaaS, software licensing and IT services contracts.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills for complex agreements.
• Ability to assess risk and provide practical legal guidance to business teams.
• Remote-work experience in fast-paced technology environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements.
• Provide internal legal advice on contract interpretation, compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Manage the contract lifecycle from initiation to renewal.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates and playbooks.
• Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws and company policies.
• Advise on intellectual property aspects related to contracts.
• Support sales, procurement, and other departments with contractual matters.
• Conduct legal research on contract-related issues.
• Manage contract disputes and seek amicable resolutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
