Placements24 is seeking a Remote Legal Counsel in South Africa with 7+ years in technology transactions, IP, and data privacy. You will draft and negotiate SaaS agreements, MSAs, and complex tech contracts, while advising on data protection and regulatory compliance in a remote-first environment.

The role requires independent, proactive, and communicative professionals who can manage multiple projects with global stakeholders from a home office.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in technology transactions, IP, and data privacy.
• Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex tech agreements.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and IP strategies.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate technology-focused contracts including SaaS agreements and MSAs.
• Advise on IP protection, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Support product teams on legal aspects of new technologies.
• Conduct due diligence for tech partnerships, M&A.
• Ensure open-source compliance and in-house templates.
