Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Construction Project Manager to oversee diverse projects across South Africa. You will manage end-to-end delivery, budgets, and schedules from a home office, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of construction PM experience, strong leadership, and proficiency with MS Project, Primavera P6, Zoom, MS Teams, and Asana. Remote-first role with national travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in construction project management.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from a remote setting.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project management software, and collaboration platforms.
• Excellent financial acumen and experience in budget management and cost control.
• In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and risk management.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and maintain high productivity in a remote work environment.
• Willingness to undertake occasional site visits as project demands dictate.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of construction projects, from planning and design to procurement, execution, and closeout.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules with critical path focus.
• Oversee project budgets, including cost tracking, forecasting, and value engineering.
• Source and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Implement and enforce HSE protocols across all sites.
• Facilitate clear communication among teams, stakeholders, and clients using digital tools.
• Conduct regular virtual site inspections and progress reviews using remote monitoring technologies.
• Manage risk and implement mitigation strategies throughout the lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and quality standards.
• Prepare comprehensive project reports and status updates for senior management.
