Job summary

WhatJobs Direct is seeking a highly experienced Remote Lead Construction Project Manager to oversee major construction projects from initiation to completion. This fully remote role lets you manage projects from anywhere in South Africa while ensuring scope, budget, and schedule are met through effective leadership of diverse teams and consultants.

You will develop plans, monitor progress, mitigate risks, enforce safety and quality standards, and report to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a construction-related field.
• 10+ years of progressive construction PM experience.
• Experience with large-scale projects and remote leadership.
• Proficiency with MS Project/Primavera and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for multiple concurrent construction projects.
• Lead and manage virtual project teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and site supervisors.
• Oversee procurement and contract administration processes for materials and services.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
• Ensure adherence to all building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards across all projects.
• Manage stakeholder communications, providing regular progress reports and updates.
• Facilitate virtual project meetings and ensure effective collaboration among all parties involved.
• Resolve project issues and conflicts in a timely and effective manner.
• Conduct post-project evaluations and identify lessons learned for future projects.
