Placements24 seeks a highly skilled Computational Biologist to join a fully remote, innovative R&D team. You will analyze genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics data, develop pipelines, and apply ML methods to identify therapeutic targets and disease mechanisms.

You will collaborate with biologists and data scientists, visualize complex data, and contribute to cutting-edge drug discovery through remote teamwork and rigorous scientific methods.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 4+ years of experience analyzing biological data using computational methods.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R; experience with bioinformatics libraries.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash) and version control (Git).
• Experience with HPC environments and cloud platforms.
• Excellent communication and collaboration for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement computational pipelines for large-scale biological datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics).
• Apply statistical and ML methods to identify patterns, biomarkers, targets.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists to design studies and interpret findings.
• Visualize data and present findings to teams and stakeholders.
• Maintain and enhance bioinformatics tools and develop new algorithms as needed.
• Stay current with advancements in bioinformatics and computational biology.
