Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Community Mobilization Coordinator to engage rural communities in Limpopo, empowering residents to lead development initiatives from a remote-first base. You will work with leaders, groups, and beneficiaries to identify needs and drive sustainable projects.

The role requires excellent facilitation and communication skills, strong understanding of community dynamics, and the ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders across Polokwane and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (Social Work, Community Development, Sociology, Development Studies, or related).
• Proven ability to facilitate community meetings and engage diverse groups.
• Strong interpersonal and listening skills with the ability to build rapport and trust.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with capacity to document activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to mobilize and engage communities in project activities.
• Facilitate community meetings, workshops, and focus groups to identify needs and local solutions.
• Build and maintain trust-based relationships with community members and local organizations.
• Support formation and strengthening of community groups and committees.
