Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Community Mobilization Officer to spearhead outreach in the Mahikeng, North West region. This fully remote role empowers you to drive impactful community initiatives from a location of your choice.

You will design mobilization strategies, engage diverse groups and stakeholders, facilitate meetings and training, identify community needs, and help build local leadership while reporting progress and adapting programs based on feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in community mobilization or development work.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Strong understanding of community dynamics and participatory approaches.
• Ability to work independently and manage remote communication.
• Familiarity with Mahikeng area is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement effective community mobilization strategies.
• Engage with diverse community groups and stakeholders to build rapport and trust.
• Facilitate community meetings, workshops, and public forums.
• Identify community needs, assets, and potential leaders.
• Develop and strengthen local leadership capacities.
• Encourage and support community-led initiatives and projects.
• Serve as a liaison between the community and the organization.
• Monitor and report on community mobilization progress and challenges.
• Contribute to program planning and adaptation based on community feedback.
• Organize training sessions for community members on relevant topics.

Education
