Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Community Engagement Coordinator for a remote role serving communities across the Northern Cape. You will design and execute engagement strategies, build trust with community leaders, and coordinate programs with internal teams.

The ideal candidate has strong communication and networking skills, deep understanding of community dynamics, and a passion for delivering social impact through participatory approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, or Public Administration.
• Proven experience in community development, outreach, or engagement.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance community engagement and participation in organizational programs.
• Build and maintain relationships with community members, leaders, and local organizations.
• Identify community needs and opportunities through active listening and dialogue.
• Facilitate community meetings, workshops, and information sessions (virtual and in-person where applicable).
• Mobilize community support and participation in projects and initiatives.
• Serve as a liaison between the organization and the communities it serves.
• Gather feedback to inform program development and adaptation.
• Support planning and execution of community outreach activities.
• Document engagement activities, outcomes, and lessons learned.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure community perspectives are integrated into organizational strategies.
