Placements24 is seeking a Remote Community Mobilization Officer to empower communities across South Africa. You will design and implement mobilization strategies, build local leadership, and coordinate virtual events that foster participation and local capacity.

The role requires a degree in a related field, at least 3 years in community development, and strong facilitation and digital communication skills. This fully remote position offers flexible work-life balance and meaningful social impact.

Qualifications

• Degree in community development or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years in community development or outreach.
• Proven ability to design and implement engagement strategies.
• Excellent facilitation and remote communication skills.
• Experience with participatory development approaches.
• Experience in capacity building and leadership development.
• Proficiency with digital collaboration tools (Zoom/Teams/Slack).
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Passion for grassroots development and social justice.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for community mobilization and engagement.
• Identify stakeholders and build collaborative relationships.
• Facilitate virtual community meetings, workshops, and planning.
• Support formation of community groups and leadership structures.
• Empower communities to identify needs and priorities.
• Develop capacity-building programs for community members.
• Monitor and evaluate mobilization efforts and adapt strategies.
• Communicate project updates to communities and stakeholders.
