Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Project Engineer for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will manage civil infrastructure projects from your home office, coordinating with clients, contractors and internal teams to ensure design accuracy, schedule adherence, and budget compliance.

The position supports flexible, modern work practices and requires strong remote collaboration capabilities. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in civil project management, professional registration

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (BEng or BSc) with relevant professional registration preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management and design.
• Experience managing infrastructure projects (roads, drainage, site development) and construction oversight.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute civil infrastructure projects remotely with strong design oversight.
• Oversee scope, schedule, budget, and quality control for projects.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams via virtual tools.
• Review and approve civil design drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Conduct remote site assessments and monitor progress through digital reporting.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes and regulations.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies; prepare progress reports.
