Placements24 is seeking a proactive Virtual Civil Project Engineer to manage infrastructure projects remotely across South Africa. The role focuses on planning, execution, and completion from a distance, using digital tools and platforms while coordinating with site teams and clients.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering degree, 6+ years of experience in project management or site supervision, and strong communication and remote collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Pr. Eng or Pr. Tech. Eng registration is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil engineering project management or site supervision.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects remotely, with strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana) and collaborative platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle for civil engineering projects, from initiation to closure, in a remote capacity.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with site engineers, contractors, and suppliers through virtual channels.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
• Ensure adherence to project budgets, schedules, and quality specifications, providing regular progress reports.
• Review and approve technical designs, drawings, and construction methodologies submitted by site teams.
• Facilitate virtual project meetings and maintain clear, concise project documentation.
