Placements24 seeks a highly accomplished Remote Chief Mining Engineer to provide strategic technical leadership for global mining operations. This role demands setting engineering standards, driving technical excellence, and ensuring safe, cost-effective development and operation of mines.

Senior leadership will guide mine design, planning, and technology adoption, with a focus on remote collaboration and delivering major project success from any location, including proximity to Pretoria.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering (Master's preferred)
15+ years of progressive mining engineering experience
Experience with both surface and underground mine design and operations
Track record managing large-scale mining projects and new tech adoption
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and remote-team management skills

Responsibilities

Develop and implement mining engineering strategies and standards across operations.
Provide expert guidance on mine design, planning, and operational optimization.
Oversee evaluation and adoption of new mining technologies and methodologies.
Lead major capital projects from a technical engineering perspective.
Ensure compliance with engineering codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Mentor and develop engineering teams to foster continuous improvement and innovation
