Placements24 seeks a distinguished Chief Mining Engineer to lead remote operations from George. You will oversee mine planning, design and production across sites, leveraging advanced technologies and best practices to drive efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

The role requires a visionary leader with 12+ years in mining, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage teams remotely. An executive salary and international project exposure are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in mine planning, operations and management.
• Proven experience with mine design software and production planning tools.
• Strong leadership, project management and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in mining.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams remotely.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term and short-term mine plans to maximize resource recovery and efficiency.
• Oversee mine design, scheduling and production, ensuring safety and environmental standards.
• Evaluate and recommend new mining technologies and methodologies to boost productivity and reduce costs.
• Manage and mentor a team of mining engineers and technical staff across projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new ventures and expansions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company policies.
