Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Chemical Process Design Engineer in South Africa. The role focuses on detailed process design and documentation for chemical and petrochemical facilities globally, from a home office.

The successful candidate will work on conceptual and FEED phases with independent handling and remote collaboration across multi-discipline teams. Requirements include a Bachelors or Masters in Chemical Engineering and at least 5 years in chemical process design within EPC or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical process design.
• Experience in EPC or consultancy environments.
• Proficiency with process simulations (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, CHEMCAD).
• Strong ability to create PFDs and P&IDs using AutoCAD P&ID or AVEVA Diagrams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop PFDs and P&IDs for chemical processes.
• Perform mass and energy balance calculations.
• Size and specify reactors, pumps, heat exchangers, and separation units.
• Conduct process simulations using industry-standard software.
• Develop operating manuals and SOPs.
• Collaborate with remote project teams and clients.
