Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Process Development Engineer based near George, South Africa, to drive the design, scaling, and optimization of novel chemical processes from lab to pilot to commercial scales. You will leverage strong modeling and experimental data to advance innovative solutions with international collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or closely related field
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in process research and development
• Demonstrated expertise in process modeling and simulation tools
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects remotely
• Strong analytical skills and deep understanding of chemical engineering principles
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience collaborating in virtual teams

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of new chemical processes from conceptualization through scale-up
• Conduct literature reviews and feasibility studies for potential processes and technologies
• Design and execute lab and pilot plant experiments to validate process designs
• Utilize process simulation software to model, optimize, and scale-up operations
• Analyze experimental data, prepare technical reports, and present findings to stakeholders
• Ensure all activities adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
