Placements24 is seeking a Lead Chemical Process Engineer for a fully remote role within South Africa. You will spearhead the design, development, and optimization of innovative chemical processes from concept to commercialization, acting as the technical authority for project teams.

You will guide process scale-up, select equipment, and shape plant design while upholding rigorous safety, environmental, and economic standards.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in chemical process development, design and scale-up.
• Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
• Experience with process hazard analyses (PHA) and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, design, and implementation of new chemical processes and technologies.
• Develop and manage process simulation models to predict performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Provide expert guidance on process scale-up, equipment selection, and plant design.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including HAZOP studies and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with R&D, project management, and operations teams in a remote setting.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, product quality, and cost reduction.
