Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Aviation Safety Officer to champion safety initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance across global operations. The role is remote, focusing on developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive Safety Management Systems (SMS) and risk mitigation strategies.

You will lead hazard identification, investigations, and training, monitor international aviation standards (ICAO, EASA, SACAA), and prepare safety reports for management.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in aviation safety management, preferably with airline or MRO operations.
• In-depth knowledge of international aviation safety regulations and standards (ICAO, EASA, SACAA).
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective Safety Management Systems (SMS).
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and remote engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust Safety Management Systems (SMS) tailored to aviation operations.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation strategy development.
• Investigate aviation incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to personnel across various departments.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure organizational compliance with all applicable aviation safety standards.
• Maintain safety records and prepare comprehensive safety reports for management and regulatory bodies.
