Placements24 is seeking a Senior Aviation Safety Officer to lead SMS development and oversight for aviation operations from a remote work setup. You will drive compliance with ICAO/EASA and local regulations, conduct audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to prevent accidents and improve safety performance.

The role requires five years of aviation safety experience, certification, and strong analytical and communication skills to work autonomously with global stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in aviation safety management or related field.
• Relevant aviation safety certification (e.g., ICAO SMS).
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Experience in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust Safety Management Systems (SMS) in accordance with ICAO, EASA, and local regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits across all operational areas.
• Investigate aviation safety incidents and accidents, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Promote a positive safety culture through training, communication, and engagement with personnel at all levels.
• Maintain and update safety documentation, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
• Analyze safety data to identify trends and develop proactive safety strategies and performance indicators.
