Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Remote Actuarial Assistant to support the actuarial team from a remote location in South Africa. You will assist senior actuaries with pricing, reserving and financial projections.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Actuarial Science or a related quantitative field, have started actuarial exams, and are proficient in math, statistics and data manipulation; experience with R, Python or SQL is a plus. This fully remote role offers study support and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or a quantitative field.
• Completion of at least 1–2 actuarial exams is highly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in mathematical and statistical concepts.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data manipulation skills.
• Familiarity with actuarial software and programming languages (R, Python or SQL) is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and maintenance of actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial forecasting.
• Perform data analysis and manipulation to support actuarial studies and reports.
• Prepare documentation for actuarial work, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Collaborate with senior actuaries on various projects, providing analytical support.
