Placements24 is seeking a Remote Actuarial Data Scientist to join its analytics team. You will build pricing, reserving, and risk models, collaborate with actuarial and underwriting teams, and lead data-driven initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Science, CS, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of data science/analytical experience with actuarial focus in insurance.
• Proven experience deploying ML models (regression, classification, clustering, time series).
• Proficiency in Python or R and data libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
• SQL knowledge; understanding of actuarial concepts and regulatory environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote team.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced statistical models and ML algorithms for pricing, reserving, and risk assessment.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends and predictive indicators for insurance.
• Collaborate with actuarial and underwriting teams to translate needs into data science solutions.
• Design experiments to test hypotheses and validate model performance.
• Build data pipelines and automate analytical processes for efficiency and scalability.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders with visuals and reports.
• Stay updated on data science and actuarial methodologies.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts.
