Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment (PTY) Ltd is seeking an experienced Regional Head of Sales for a major short-term insurance client based in Centurion, Gauteng. You will lead regional sales, drive profitable premium growth and nurture broker and client relationships while upholding underwriting discipline and regulatory compliance.

You will coach and develop a high-performing sales team, monitor performance against budgets, and collaborate with underwriting, claims and finance to optimise service delivery

Qualifications

• Degree in Commerce, Marketing, Insurance or related field.
• RE5/FAIS-compliant qualification.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in the short-term insurance industry.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a sales leadership, regional management or business development role.
• Strong broker/intermediary relationship management experience.
• Understanding of short-term insurance products, underwriting principles and risk management.
• Knowledge of FAIS, POPIA and TCF regulations.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Willingness to travel within the region.

Responsibilities

• Drive profitable premium growth and achieve regional sales targets in line with budgets and objectives.
• Lead, develop, coach and performance-manage regional sales teams.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients and partners to increase market share and retention.
• Ensure underwriting quality and adherence to risk appetite and governance.
• Monitor regional profitability through loss ratio and portfolio management.
• Ensure compliance with policy, regulatory requirements and TCF/POPIA obligations.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, finance and operations to optimise service delivery.
• Analyse performance trends and implement initiatives to improve results and satisfaction.
