Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Regional Retail Operations Manager to oversee multiple stores in Richards Bay and surrounding KwaZulu-Natal regions, focusing on operational efficiency, profitability, and brand consistency.

You will lead regional teams, monitor KPIs, manage inventory and logistics, and collaborate with marketing, sales, and HR to drive growth. The role requires regular site visits and a willingness to travel, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in retail operations management, with at least 3 years in a multi-site or regional management role.
• Demonstrated success in improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and driving profitability.
• Strong understanding of supply chain management, inventory control and loss prevention.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in retail management software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
• Ability to travel frequently within the region and occasionally to other locations.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the operational performance of multiple retail stores within the assigned region.
• Developing and implementing strategic operational plans to enhance efficiency and profitability.
• Monitoring KPIs such as sales, inventory turnover, customer satisfaction, and expenses.
• Managing regional inventory levels, supply chain logistics, and distribution processes.
• Providing leadership, training, and support to store managers and their teams.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and security regulations across locations.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support objectives and growth.
• Conducting regular site visits and operational audits to assess performance.
