The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in senior hotel management, including 5+ years as GM or regional head, and a strong track record in revenue, cost control, and guest satisfaction. MBA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in senior hotel management roles, with at least 5 years as a General Manager of a luxury hotel or regional/multi-property oversight.
• Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence and financial results in luxury hospitality.
• Experience in hybrid roles balancing remote strategic work with on-site engagement.

Responsabilités

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for a portfolio of luxury hotels within the assigned region.
• Ensure all properties meet and exceed luxury service standards and brand identity.
• Drive financial performance by monitoring KPIs, cost controls, and revenue across departments.
• Support and guide General Managers to foster high performance and continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess efficiency, guest satisfaction, and staff performance.
• Oversee implementation of new initiatives, best practices, and brand standards regionally.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Sales & Marketing to align regional strategies with group objectives.
• Ensure compliance with legal, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and guest experience enhancements.

About the Role

Our client, a prestigious luxury hotel group with a growing portfolio, is seeking an accomplished and strategic Regional Director of Operations to oversee multiple properties in the Gauteng region, with a key focus on their flagship hotel in Sandton . This pivotal role requires a leader with extensive experience in luxury hospitality operations, a deep understanding of financial management, and a passion for driving exceptional guest experiences across diverse properties. The candidate will be responsible for setting operational standards, ensuring profitability, and leading General Managers to achieve excellence. This hybrid role involves strategic planning and oversight from a remote base, complemented by regular on-site visits and engagement with the properties in Sandton and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for a portfolio of luxury hotels within the assigned region.
• Ensure all properties consistently meet and exceed the group's luxury service standards and brand identity.
• Drive financial performance by monitoring KPIs, implementing cost control measures, and maximizing revenue across all departments.
• Support and guide General Managers of individual properties, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and staff performance.
• Oversee the implementation of new initiatives, operational best practices, and brand standards across the region.
• Collaborate with corporate departments (e.g., HR, Finance, Sales & Marketing) to align regional strategies with group objectives.

• Mentor and develop a pipeline of future hospitality leaders within the region, with a strong emphasis on the operations in Sandton .

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in senior hotel management roles, with at least 5 years as a General Manager of a luxury hotel or a regional/multi-property oversight role.
• Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence and financial results in luxury hospitality.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of all hotel operations, including F&B, rooms division, sales, marketing, and finance.
• Strong understanding of the luxury market and guest expectations.
• Experience working in a hybrid capacity, balancing remote strategic responsibilities with essential on-site operational engagement.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
• Ability to travel frequently within the Gauteng region and occasionally internationally.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop talent within a diverse team.
