About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician to join their established service team in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga . This role is crucial for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of thermodynamics, refrigeration cycles, electrical controls, and be adept at diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues. Key Responsibilities

• Install new refrigeration and air conditioning systems , including commercial walk-in coolers, freezers, and packaged AC units.
• Perform regular maintenance and servicing on refrigeration and AC equipment to ensure efficient operation and prevent breakdowns.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant system issues.
• Repair or replace faulty components, compressors, motors, fans, and control systems.
• Recharge refrigerant systems following all environmental regulations and safety procedures.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
• Maintain accurate logs of all service calls, repairs, parts used, and refrigerant levels.
• Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Communicate effectively with clients to explain service issues and solutions.
• Respond promptly to emergency service requests in the Nelspruit area.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician, with at least 3 years in a commercial/industrial capacity.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical troubleshooting, and control systems.
• Proficiency in brazing, soldering, and handling refrigerants safely and according to regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent diagnostic skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
• Relevant certifications in refrigeration and air conditioning (e.g., NQF Level 2/3, trade test) are highly desirable.
• Good communication and customer service skills .
• Ability to work independently and manage a service schedule effectively.
• Must be physically fit and able to work in various environmental conditions.
