Placements24 is seeking a Senior Refrigeration Technician to join our client in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. You will install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration systems, diagnose complex issues, and lead service calls across client facilities.

The role requires strong technical aptitude, expertise in refrigeration cycles, and commitment to high-quality service. You will mentor junior technicians, read schematics and manuals, and ensure safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Refrigeration Technician with a focus on commercial systems.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics, and electrical controls.
• Proficiency in brazing, soldering, and handling refrigerants safely.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing systems from major manufacturers.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Willingness to be on call for emergency service.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration systems including walk-ins, freezers, chillers, and display cases.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex refrigeration problems and identify root causes.
• Perform routine maintenance like coil cleaning, refrigerant checks, and controls testing.
• Service compressors, condensers, evaporators, and expansion valves.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
