Placements24 in Nelspruit is seeking a skilled Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineer to join our engineering team. You will deploy, optimize, and maintain the wireless network infrastructure to deliver high-performance mobile services.

The role involves working with base stations (eNodeB, gNB), analyzing performance, and collaborating with field teams and vendors in a hybrid on-site/remote model. A strong background in 4G/LTE and 5G, plus a degree in electrical engineering or telecommunications,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related field.
Minimum 5 years in RAN engineering with 4G/LTE and 5G experience.
Strong knowledge of radio propagation, antenna systems, and wireless protocols.
Experience with RAN optimization tools and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

Deploy, configure, and optimize RAN elements including base stations (eNodeB, gNB).
Monitor performance metrics, analyze traffic, and enhance capacity and coverage.
Troubleshoot RAN issues with field engineers and vendor support.
Participate in network planning and evaluation of new RAN technologies.
Ensure adherence to standards and operational procedures.
Collaborate with core network teams for seamless service delivery.
