Job summary

HID Global in Durban, South Africa, is seeking a QA Engineer to ensure the quality of software, firmware, and integrated systems. You will design and execute test plans, perform manual and automated testing, document defects, and collaborate with developers in an Agile environment.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience with Jira and TestRail, Windows and Web applications, and SDLC/STLC knowledge.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience as Software Quality Engineer.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools and techniques.
• Hands-on experience with Jira and TestRail.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience with Windows and Web applications.
• Understanding of SDLC and STLC processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans based on project specs and acceptance criteria.
• Perform manual and automated testing to identify defects and ensure quality.
• Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Conduct functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
• Document, prioritize, and report bugs using issue-tracking tools.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts and contribute to CI.
• Continuously improve QA processes and efficiency.
