Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a leading diversified investment group, is seeking an experienced Property Investment Portfolio Manager to oversee and grow their real estate investment portfolio across South Africa, with a primary focus on assets in the Kimberley region. This senior role requires a strategic visionary with a proven ability to identify, acquire, manage, and dispose of real estate assets to maximize returns. The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing investment strategies, managing relationships with investors and partners, and ensuring the optimal performance of all portfolio assets. We are looking for an analytical and results-driven individual with deep market knowledge and a strong understanding of real estate finance and investment principles. This is a critical leadership position offering significant influence and opportunity within a dynamic investment landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive investment strategies for the real estate portfolio, aligning with the firm's objectives.
• Source, evaluate, and acquire new real estate investment opportunities, conducting rigorous due diligence and financial analysis.
• Oversee the performance of existing portfolio assets, implementing strategies for value enhancement and risk mitigation.
• Manage relationships with joint venture partners, lenders, tenants, and property managers.

Requirements

• MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in real estate investment, portfolio management, or acquisitions.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and growing a substantial real estate investment portfolio.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques (DCF, comparables), and investment analysis software (e.g., ARGUS).
• Strong understanding of real estate capital markets, debt and equity structures, and legal aspects of real estate transactions.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, negotiation, and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of the South African real estate market, with specific familiarity with the Kimberley region being a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-pressure, deal-driven environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
