Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Production Engineer in Stellenbosch to optimize the performance of oil and gas production facilities. You will monitor operations, troubleshoot issues, and implement strategies to maximize hydrocarbon recovery while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

The role requires a solid understanding of production systems, artificial lift methods, and surface facilities, with a proactive, analytical mindset and a commitment to operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production engineering in oil and gas.
• Proficiency in production software and analysis techniques.
• Strong knowledge of artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift).
• Experience with production forecasting and surface facility operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze production rates, pressures, and fluid properties to optimize well performance.
• Identify and diagnose production problems, such as artificial lift failures, sand production, or scaling.
• Implement strategies to enhance oil and gas recovery, including artificial lift design and optimization.
• Oversee routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues with production equipment and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards in all production operations.
• Collaborate with reservoir and drilling engineers on production optimization and field development plans.
