Job summary

6481 Sandvik Mining Rsa (Pty) Ltd seeks an experienced field support technician to deliver high-quality technical assistance to end users and service personnel, with a focus on Sandvik Rock Drills and trackless mining equipment. The role includes coaching peers, assisting warranty processes, and conducting on-site demonstrations.

The candidate should have at least Grade 12/N3, a relevant trade certificate, strong English skills, and a valid driver’s license to operate in a demanding mining

Qualifications

• Must have strong maintenance experience in mining equipment.
• Proficient in Sandvik Rock Drills or similar mining products.
• Good command of English; ability to communicate with diverse teams.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate in demanding mining environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality technical support to end users, operators and service personnel for complex issues.
• Coaching and training technicians and specialists.
• Provide feedback to Product Support Managers for equipment improvements.
• Assist in compiling data for warranty claims and machine improvements.
• Perform on-site technical assistance to resolve issues and conduct equipment demonstrations.

The Role

Responsible for providing quality technical support and for developing the technical competencies of internal and external customers.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to end users, operators and service personnel in cases of complex technical issues.
• Coaching and training with Technicians and Specialists
• Provide relevant feedback to Product Support Managers to enable improvements to the equipment or its operations.
• Provide technical expertise into the sales and business development offering to customers
• Provide assistance in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims and engineering machine improvements.
• Review spare parts recommendations with Parts BLM organization
• Provide information on accuracy of Machine Life Operating Costs (MLOC) to PSM
• Investigate warranty claims proactively and reactively to enhance customer satisfaction and provide feedback to the Warranty Analyst.
• Assist PSM with field-testing and trials of new products and updated components to ensure proper and safe operation.
• Perform equipment demonstrations in a safe manner.
• Provide on-site technical assistance to resolve issues
