Job summary

You will coach technicians, perform on-site assistance, and provide critical feedback to improve equipment performance and cost metrics in a demanding mining environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/N3 and a relevant trade certificate.
• 10 years maintenance experience in mining environments.
• Experience with Sandvik Rock Drills.
• Proficient in English; able to operate in UG mining environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to end users and service personnel on complex issues.
• Coach and train Technicians and Specialists.
• Provide feedback to Product Support Managers for improvements to equipment or operations.
• Provide technical expertise to support sales and business development to customers.
• Assist in compiling data to process warranty claims and machine improvements.
• Review spare parts recommendations with Parts BLM organization.
• Provide information on Machine Life Operating Costs (MLOC) to PSM.
• Investigate warranty claims proactively and reactively to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Assist PSM with field-testing and trials of new products and updated components.
• Perform equipment demonstrations in a safe manner.
• Provide on-site technical assistance to resolve issues.
• Engage in relationship marketing and market services.

The Role

Responsible for providing quality technical support and for developing the technical competencies of internal and external customers.

• Perform equipment demonstrations in a safe manner.

Your profile

• Grade 12/N3
• Relevant trade certificate
• Computer literacy
• Maintenance experience (10 years)
• Sandvik product experience on Rock Drills
• English proficiency
• Trackless mining experience on UG Drills and Bolters
• Valid driver’s license
• Physical & Medical ability to function in a mining environment
