Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Process Engineer for its Richards Bay facility. You will optimize production processes, troubleshoot issues, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality in a heavy manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering background, problem-solving mindset, and hands-on experience in a physical plant environment, driving projects from concept to implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with process simulation software and statistical process control (SPC).
• Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement process changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Design, test, and implement new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
