Job summary

Placements24 in East London is seeking a Process Engineer to join its manufacturing operations team. You will analyze production processes, apply Lean principles, and drive continuous improvement on the factory floor to boost efficiency and quality.

You will work on data-driven projects, perform time and motion studies, design layouts, SOPs, and collaborate with production staff to implement practical solutions while upholding safety and quality standards at our East London facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a process/industrial engineering role in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Proficiency with Excel and basic statistical tools.
• Familiarity with CAD software; Six Sigma knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Develop and implement lean process improvements (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen).
• Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workflows and operator efficiency.
• Design and document new or modified process layouts, equipment specs, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support integration of new technologies and automation solutions into production.
• Monitor KPIs related to production output, quality, and cost, and report findings to management.
• Train production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
