Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our East London facility to optimize manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement. You will work hands-on with production lines, troubleshoot issues, and implement new manufacturing technologies to enhance efficiency and product quality.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, and CAD proficiency (AutoCAD/SolidWorks). Knowledge of lean, Six Sigma, and automation is desired.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years in manufacturing engineering.
• Proficient in CAD for tooling/fixture design and interpreting technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining, stamping, injection molding and assembly processes.
• Experience with automation/PLC controls and lean Six Sigma methods is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Design and procure tooling, fixtures, and equipment for production.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues on the shop floor.
• Conduct SPC and process capability studies to drive improvements.
• Collaborate with R&D and design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
• Create SOPs and deliver training to production staff.
• Evaluate and integrate new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions.
• Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Participate in cross-functional lean manufacturing initiatives.
