Job summary
Placements24 in East London seeks an experienced Industrial Engineer to lead Lean process improvements across our manufacturing operations in the Eastern Cape. The role blends on-site collaboration with flexible, hybrid work to optimize production systems, reduce waste, and boost efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness.
You will analyze processes, implement Lean tools, and work with cross-functional teams to sustain gains and ensure safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years in industrial engineering with Lean focus.
- Experience implementing Lean tools in manufacturing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Analyze current processes to identify waste and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement Lean-based strategies (5S, Kaizen, VSM).
- Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workflows.
- Collaborate with teams to implement process changes.
- Design and optimize plant layouts and material flow.
- Monitor KPIs related to output, quality and cost.
- Create and maintain SOPs and process documentation.
- Evaluate new manufacturing technologies.
- Promote safety and continuous improvement culture.
