Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Process Control Engineer to join their Nelspruit team. You will design, implement, and maintain advanced process control systems for chemical processes, focusing on safety, efficiency, and reliability.

You will work with DCS and PLC platforms and collaborate with engineers to optimize control strategies. The role requires a chemical or electrical engineering degree and 4+ years in process control, with expertise in DeltaV or Experion and PLC programming.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
4+ years of experience in process control engineering within the chemical industry.
Proficiency with major DCS platforms (e.g., Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion) and PLC programming.
Strong understanding of process dynamics, control theory, and instrumentation.
Experience with alarm management and cybersecurity for industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and implement DCS and PLC-based control systems for chemical processes.
Develop and tune advanced regulatory control loops and APC strategies.
Troubleshoot and maintain existing control systems, ensuring reliability and performance.
Collaborate with process engineers to define control strategies and improve process stability.
Develop and execute control system testing and commissioning plans.
Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
