Placements24 is seeking a skilled Process Control Engineer to join our clients' team in Tembisa, SA. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced process control systems to optimize plant operations, enhance safety, and improve product quality.

You will work with operations and engineering to troubleshoot issues, develop APC strategies, and ensure reliable control system performance across chemical plants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process control engineering, preferably in the chemical sector.
• Proficiency with industry-standard control systems (Rockwell, Siemens, Honeywell).
• Strong knowledge of control theory, PID control, MPC, and SIS.
• Experience with programming languages relevant to control systems (Ladder Logic, C++).
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and commission APC strategies and systems.
• Develop and maintain control system logic for PLCs, DCS, and SCADA.
• Tune control loops to ensure stable, efficient plant operation.
• Troubleshoot control system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with process engineers and operators to meet control needs.
• Perform regular audits and updates of control documentation and software.
