Job summary

Placements24 in Upington is seeking an experienced Process Control Engineer to design, implement, and optimize APC strategies for our facility. You will apply chemical/electrical engineering principles to ensure safe, efficient, and stable plant operation, leveraging DCS/PLC systems and APC tools.

You will collaborate with process engineers and operations, develop control strategies, document configurations, and stay abreast of new automation technologies to drive performance and reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 4 years in process control engineering.
Strong knowledge of control theory, instrumentation, and DCS.
Experience with PLC/DCS programming.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and commission APC systems (PID, MPC, PLC/DCS).
Develop and optimize control strategies to enhance performance and quality.
Troubleshoot control systems and perform root cause analysis.
Collaborate with process engineers and operations to define control requirements.
Maintain control system documentation.
Stay updated on process control technology.
