Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Process Control Chemical Engineer to enhance automation and optimize performance at a Soweto facility. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a focus on control systems.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in process control engineering, preferably in the chemical industry.
Proficiency with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
Strong understanding of control theory, PID tuning, and advanced control strategies.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain advanced process control (APC) strategies and systems.
Develop and tune control loops to optimize process performance, stability, and product quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to process control instrumentation and automation systems.
Collaborate with plant engineers and operators to identify opportunities for improved automation.
Conduct feasibility studies for new automation projects and prepare technical specifications.
Ensure control systems comply with safety standards and cybersecurity best practices.
