Placements24 seeks a specialized Chemical Engineer with expertise in Process Control and Automation to join their Upington facility. The role focuses on design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced control systems (DCS/PLC) ensuring efficiency, safety, and stability of chemical processes.

Key responsibilities include optimizing control loops, troubleshooting automation issues, and managing control system upgrade projects, with on-site engagement in a modern manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Chemical Engineering with focus on control systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process control engineering and automation within the chemical industry.
• Proficiency with DCS and PLC programming and configuration.
• Strong understanding of control theory, instrumentation, and signal processing.
• Experience with data historians and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills related to automated systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain advanced process control strategies using DCS and PLC systems.
• Develop and optimize control loops to ensure stable and efficient plant operation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to process automation hardware and software.
