Placements24 is seeking a skilled Process Control Chemical Engineer to enhance automation and control systems in Vereeniging's chemical facilities. This hands-on role focuses on improving DCS/PLC performance, plant safety, and product quality through advanced control strategies.
You will work with operations and instrumentation teams, tune loops, develop process models, and stay current with new automation technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering with a process focus.
- Proven experience in industrial process control with DCS/PLC programming and configuration.
- Solid understanding of process dynamics and control theory.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced process control strategies (DCS, PLC).
- Tune control loops and optimize parameters for stability, yield, and energy efficiency.
- Develop and validate process models for simulation and control design.
- Troubleshoot control system issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineers and operators to integrate control systems with plant operations.
- Stay current with new automation technologies and recommend upgrades.
