Placements24 is seeking an experienced Event Coordinator in Benoni, Gauteng to manage end-to-end execution of high-profile catering events. You will liaise with clients, coordinate with the culinary team, handle logistics, and ensure exceptional event outcomes within Benoni and surrounding areas.

The role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding culinary experiences. Evening and weekend work may be required as events demand.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an Event Coordinator or in a similar role within catering or hospitality.
• Proven understanding of event planning processes, catering operations, and menu creation.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by events.
• Proficiency with event management software and MS Office Suite.
• Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management or Event Planning.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for clients, understanding event vision and catering needs.
• Develop detailed event proposals, menus, and budgets with the culinary team.
• Coordinate all logistical aspects of events, including venue liaison, staffing, rentals, and transportation.
• Manage event timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
• Oversee on-site event execution, ensuring seamless service and client satisfaction.
• Conduct post-event debriefs and client follow-ups.
• Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and venue partners.
• Assist in developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies for catering services.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Contribute creative ideas for menu development and event concepts in Benoni.
