Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to oversee mechanical operations and maintenance for a major industrial plant in Kimberley. You will lead maintenance strategies, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive improvements to minimize downtime and boost efficiency on site.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years of experience focusing on plant operations, with strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, and CMMS usage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on plant operations and maintenance.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
• Experience with CMMS software for maintenance management.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a demanding industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the mechanical maintenance and repair operations for plant machinery and equipment.
• Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
• Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee capital projects related to mechanical upgrades and installations.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and operational procedures.
• Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers and maintenance technicians.
