Placements24 in Upington is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to lead the commissioning of new and upgraded electrical systems in power generation projects. You will develop commissioning plans, execute tests, troubleshoot issues, and deliver handover packages to operations, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficient startup of critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
Minimum of 5 years of commissioning experience in electrical systems.
Experience with power generation projects (thermal, hydro, renewables).
Ability to read complex electrical schematics and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive electrical commissioning plans and procedures for power generation plants.
Perform pre-commissioning checks, functional tests, and performance tests on electrical equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during commissioning, coordinating with project teams and vendors.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and project specifications.
Document all commissioning activities, test results, and handover reports.
