Job summary

Placements24 in Upington is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, implement and maintain electrical systems for telecommunications sites across the region. You will ensure robust power, grounding, and lightning protection to support reliable connectivity.

Collaboration with civil engineers and field technicians, performing load calculations and equipment specification, while complying with BICSI standards and safety regs, will be central to your role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years' experience in electrical engineering for telecom infra.
• Knowledge of power systems, grounding, and protection for comms facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for telecommunications sites, including power, grounding, and lightning protection.
• Specify and select electrical equipment such as generators, UPS systems, power distribution units, and associated cabling.
• Perform site surveys and technical assessments for new installations and upgrades.
• Ensure electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
• Collaborate with civil engineers, project managers, and field technicians to oversee installation and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues impacting network reliability and performance.
